North Shore Inline Marathon Service Impacts Route 103 & 110 Saturday, September 19th

North Shore Inline Marathon Service Impacts Route 103 & 110 Saturday, September 19

The North Shore Inline Marathon will cause road closures and traffic congestion throughout Duluth. Riders on all DTA routes should expect possible delays during this time, particularly when traveling through downtown Duluth.

Route 103 riders in the vicinity of 60th Ave E and E Superior St should be ready to find alternate stops nearby if 60th Ave E between Superior St and Tioga St is closed for any time on Saturday. We cannot confirm if this will be the case at this time.

Route 110 (Duluth-Superior)

Due to a combination of marathon-related road closures and ongoing construction, Route 110 will not serve Garfield Avenue for most of the day.

Customers who normally use Route 110 stops on Garfield Avenue should plan for alternate travel arrangements during this time.

Service to Garfield Avenue is expected to resume beginning with:

The 2:28 PM trip departing Aldi in Superior toward Duluth

The 2:50 PM trip departing the Downtown Transit Center toward Superior

We appreciate your patience as we work to safely maintain service during this event.

Alert: Superior, WI Shelter replacement project week of September 14th (110, 111, 210, 211)

CLICK FOR DETAILS CLICK FOR LESS

Alert: Superior, WI Shelter replacement project week of September 14th (110, 111, 210, 211)

Beginning sometime during the week of September 14, all bus shelters in Superior will be replaced or upgraded, and several new shelters will be installed.

Because work locations, timing, and construction activity may change throughout the project, some bus stops may be temporarily inaccessible with little advance notice while shelter work is underway.

If your usual stop is affected by construction, please use the nearest available bus stop. Operators will make every effort to serve riders as close to their regular stop as conditions safely allow. However, for safety reasons, buses may only stop at locations where boarding and alighting can be completed safely and legally.

Shelter installation and removal activities may temporarily affect access to bus stops even when bus service remains available. Riders should follow any posted signs and remain clear of active work areas.

Please allow extra travel time and be prepared to walk a short distance to an alternate stop if necessary. Thank you for your patience as these improvements are made.

Service Alert: Route 104 and Blue Line Woodland Avenue Stop Adjustments September 14-18, 21-25

Service Alert: Route 104 and Blue Line Woodland Avenue Stop Adjustments September 14-18, 21-25
On weekdays from September 14-18 and September 21-25, construction work on Woodland Avenue will create temporary lane, shoulder, and sidewalk closures that will move as work progresses.
Because work locations may change throughout the day, some Blue Line and Route 104 bus stops may be temporarily inaccessible with little advance notice.
If your usual stop is affected by construction, please use the nearest available bus stop outside the work area. Operators will make every effort to serve riders as close to their regular stop as conditions safely allow; however, for safety reasons, buses may not be able to stop outside designated bus stops.
If you see a bus approaching you may try to wave for the bus if not at a stop and the Operator will try to assist, if possible, but please know that this may not be a safe option for the Operator depending on conditions at the time. Your safest and most reliable option is to be at an unimpacted alternate stop on the same side of the street instead.
We encourage riders to allow extra time and be prepared to walk a short distance to an alternate stop if necessary. Thank you for your patience as this work is completed.

Route 103 and 109 Detour Under Mesaba Beginning Monday, August 24th

Beginning Monday, August 24, West Superior Street beneath Mesaba Avenue will be closed to traffic in both directions. As a result, Route 109 will operate on the detour outlined below.

Route 103 will follow the same detour as Route 109 through August 29. Beginning August 30, Route 103 will transition to a different detour and will no longer use the Route 109 detour routing.

This closure is expected to remain in effect through the end of October. Additional routes currently operating on separate detours may eventually return to their regular routes, which would be affected by this closure. Detour information will be updated as those routing changes are implemented.

Route 109 and 103 (until Aug 29th) To Downtown: Regular route into downtown from I-35 NB

Route 103 To Downtown starting Aug 30th: the detour on W 1st St will take 103 around this closure.

Route 109 From Downtown and Westbound 103 (until Aug 29th): From W Superior St and 5th Ave W detour by turning left onto 5th Ave W, follow 5th Ave W to I-35 SB ramp and take that ramp to resume regular route on I-35 SB.

Route 103 Westbound starting Aug 30th: the detour on W 1st St will take 103 around this closure.

Westbound 103 and Blue Line East Superior Street Detour Beginning Monday, August 24th

CLICK FOR DETAILS CLICK FOR LESS

Westbound 103 and Blue Line East Superior Street detour Beginning Monday, August 24th

Beginning Monday, August 24th, and lasting for approximately 5 weeks the westbound lane of E Superior St will be closed between 10th Ave E and 8th Ave E. This will create a detour for eastbound Blue Line and Route 103 until the lane reopens.
Due to the length and duration of detoured route and temporary stop placement we will need 1 full day to communicate changes to return to regular route before reverting.
***We will return to regular route the service day following completion of the project. This will avoid potential confusion that can happen if a route shifts mid-day, potentially leaving passengers uninformed of the change**
Westbound 103 and Blue Line: From E Superior St at 10th Ave E, detour by turning right onto 10th Ave E, follow up to 1st St and turn left, follow 1st St to 3rd Ave E and turn left, follow 3rd Ave E to E Superior St and turn right to resume regular route.

August 30th Schedule Change Announcement:

Superior gets a new route in 210 - Blue Line/103 Return to traditional routing:
CLICK FOR DETAILS CLICK FOR LESS

On Sunday August 30th, there will be changes to Routes 103 and Blue line.  These routes will revert to the schedules and service corridors used before the summer detour schedules launched in June.  This change will have route 103 staying on Grand avenue through Spirit Valley/Lincoln Park, and see the return of the Blue Line serving UMD (aside from active detours that will affect these routes into fall).

Additionally, Superior will see the addition of a new local route, Route 210, returning service to portions of South Superior, connecting that neighborhood with all other Superior routing.  This routing addition is a first phase of the plan to provide more service to Superior, pending the addition of more drivers.   The 210 will operate seven days per week except on holidays. Service will run approximately 6:00 am to 10:00 am, and 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm, much in the way recently added Route 111 operates.

Here are previews of the schedules for the three routes mentioned above:

Blue Line Schedule  effective Sunday, August 30th

Route 103 Schedule  effective Sunday, August 30th

Route_210 Schedule  effective Sunday, August 30th
