DTA Buses will Detour Near Kirby Plaza beginning Thursday December 19th.

A project at UMD’s Dining Center will cause some closures and partial closures with undetermined timing. To be able to provide consistent service with adequate communication the DTA will temporarily shift our Kirby Plaza service to a temporary hub on University Dr near the Darland Administration building.

Blue Line and Route 103 heading toward UMD will access this hub on University Dr from St. Marie St. Then they will depart UMD out to College St. to Junction Ave until it becomes St. Marie St. and will resume regular route.

Routes 104 and 106 heading toward UMD will access this hub by using St. Marie St. until it becomes Junction Ave to College St to University Dr. After leaving UMD they will proceed on University Dr to St. Marie St. and onto regular route.

Route 105 heading toward UMD will access this hub by turning right onto College St. from 19th Ave East and then to University Dr. After leaving UMD they will proceed on University Dr to St. Marie St. and onto regular route.

Route 112 will travel through UMD both directions on University Dr instead of Kirby Dr. and will also use the temporary hub as a bus stop.

**EXPECT DELAYS ON ALL TRIPS, AND TAKE EARLIER TRIPS TO GET TO DESTINATIONS ON TIME**

BEGINNING TUESDAY OCTOBER 8TH, WE WILL IMPLEMENT A SHUTTLE SERVING POINTS OF THE 103 ROUTE BETWEEN 88TH AVE W AND CONCORD AND COMMONWEALTH AVE AND MCCUEN. PLEASE SEE DETOUR REVISIONS BELOW WE HOPE THIS WILL EXPEDITE TRAVEL THROUGH THIS AREA.

As of 1:15 pm on 10/8 it appears as though the shuttle assistance is helping to maintain the non-exception trips much closer to on time. We are continuing to monitor this and will update again as needed or when more information comes to light.

UPDATE: to keep the 103 schedules intact we have found 4 trips coming from New Duluth and 4 trips going to New Duluth that will need to follow the full original detour. These trips outlined below passengers traveling between New Duluth and downtown should remain on the same bus. All other trips will follow the instructions below that mention the trolley shuttle transfer point.

The Weekday exception trips that follow the FULL DETOUR are:

103 to UMD leaving McCuen at 4:45 am due at 88th and Edward by 4:54 am

103 to UMD leaving McCuen at 5:45 am due at 88th and Edward by 5:54 am

103 to UMD leaving McCuen at 7:12 am due at 88th and Edward by 7:21 am

103 to UMD leaving McCuen at 3:17 Pm due at 88th and Edward by 3:26 pm

To New Duluth leaving DTC at 9:20 pm due at 88th and Edward by 9:50 pm

To New Duluth leaving DTC at 9:50 pm due at 88th and Edward by 10:20 pm

ALL OF THOSE EXCEPTION TRIPS WILL OPERATE UNDER THE FULL DETOUR WE BEGAN ON FRIDAY 10/04 DESCRIBED HERE:

Westbound Route 103 (To New Duluth): Buses will run regular route thru Morgan Park to Idaho Street and Hilton Street, then turn right on Hilton and run back to 88th Avenue West, turn left on 88th and run back thru Morgan Park to Grand Avenue, turn left and run to New Duluth via regular route.

Eastbound Route 103 (From New Duluth): Buses will run regular route to Commonwealth and Idaho Street then detour by continuing along Commonwealth (turns into Grand Avenue) to the Arbor Street entrance to Morgan Park, turn right and run thru Morgan Park to Hilton Street, then turn right on Hilton and run back to Idaho, turn left on Idaho and run back thru Morgan Park to Grand Avenue, turn right and return to regular route.

The duration of this detour is unknown at this time but may be long term. We are still awaiting additional information, but we wish to improve timing of this service for everyone.

Original FULL detour for the 4 exception trips.

ALL OTHER TRIPS WILL MAKE CONNECTIONS WITH A SHUTTLE BEING OPERATED BETWEEN 88TH AVE W AND CONCORD ST TO NEW DULUTH. THIS SHUTTLE WILL MOST LIKELY BE IN THE FORM OF ONE OF OUR TROLLEYS.

Passengers using stops in Morgan Park as far as Idaho and Hilton St can use Route 103 as they normally would.

ANY WESTBOUND PASSENGERS SEEKING STOPS PAST MORGAN PARK NEED TO TRANSFER TO THE SHUTTLE AT 88TH AND CONCORD.

Any passengers seeking to travel towards Morgan Park or Downtown from points Southwest of Morgan Park, should seek the shuttle (likely a trolley) at any regular bus stop at the usually scheduled time and then transfer in Morgan Park at 88th and Concord with the 103 which can continue your journey.

We understand this is a complicated scenario and we appreciate any patience and understanding as we deal with the unexpected and sudden closure of the railroad bridge on the southwest exit of Morgan Park. Please stay tuned to this detour in case we are able to improve upon it or get any updates regarding the bridge situation.

Thank you!
