Service Alert – Route 103 and Blue Line Unexpected stop closure:

Until further notice, the eastbound Grand Ave at 57th Avenue west stop will be temporarily closed. Passengers should 59th and Grand, or Central and Grand for both boarding and exiting on these routes.

Superior High School Homecoming Parade Detour Routes 111, 211, 110

Friday, September 25 | Approximately 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM

Due to the Superior High School Homecoming Parade, Catlin Avenue will be closed between Belknap Street and the high school. During this closure, Routes 111, 210, and 211 will use detours.

To continue serving the area, temporary bus stops will be available:

• On Mertz Mortorelli Memorial Drive near Lots 3A/3B (east of Ostrander Hall)
• On Mertz Mortorelli Memorial Drive near Northwood Technical College
• Routes 111 and 211 will also serve a temporary stop on 25th Street east of Hill Avenue, near the Superior Children’s Center, replacing the regular Hill Avenue stops at 25th Street during the detour

Important: Passengers using the stops on any of  the Hill Ave stops as well as 25th Street should confirm they are boarding the correct route and direction before boarding during the detour window.

We expect regular routing to resume as soon as Catlin Avenue reopens, approximately 3:00 PM. Please watch for updates and allow extra travel time during the detour period.

Route 110 Detour – Sat/Sun September 26 & 27

Due to drag racing events on Garfield Avenue, Route 110 will begin service on detour Saturday and Sunday, September 26-27.

During the detour, no Route 110 service will be provided between N 5th St & Hammond Ave in Superior and 5th Ave W & Superior St in Duluth.

Garfield Avenue is expected to reopen around 6:30 PM. Route 110 is expected to return to its regular route with the 6:28 PM departure from Aldi to Duluth and the 6:50 PM departure from the Duluth Transportation Center (DTC) to Superior. If the roadway remains closed, the detour will resume on the following trip.
Please allow extra travel time and watch for service updates.

Alert: Superior, WI Shelter replacement project week of September 14th (110, 111, 210, 211)

Beginning sometime during the week of September 14, all bus shelters in Superior will be replaced or upgraded, and several new shelters will be installed.

Because work locations, timing, and construction activity may change throughout the project, some bus stops may be temporarily inaccessible with little advance notice while shelter work is underway.

If your usual stop is affected by construction, please use the nearest available bus stop. Operators will make every effort to serve riders as close to their regular stop as conditions safely allow. However, for safety reasons, buses may only stop at locations where boarding and alighting can be completed safely and legally.

Shelter installation and removal activities may temporarily affect access to bus stops even when bus service remains available. Riders should follow any posted signs and remain clear of active work areas.

Please allow extra travel time and be prepared to walk a short distance to an alternate stop if necessary. Thank you for your patience as these improvements are made.

Route 103 and 109 Detour Under Mesaba Beginning Monday, August 24th

Beginning Monday, August 24, West Superior Street beneath Mesaba Avenue will be closed to traffic in both directions. As a result, Route 109 will operate on the detour outlined below.

Route 103 will follow the same detour as Route 109 through August 29. Beginning August 30, Route 103 will transition to a different detour and will no longer use the Route 109 detour routing.

This closure is expected to remain in effect through the end of October. Additional routes currently operating on separate detours may eventually return to their regular routes, which would be affected by this closure. Detour information will be updated as those routing changes are implemented.

Route 109 and 103 (until Aug 29^th) To Downtown: Regular route into downtown from I-35 NB

Route 103 To Downtown starting Aug 30th: the detour on W 1^st St will take 103 around this closure.

Route 109 From Downtown and Westbound 103 (until Aug 29^th): From W Superior St and 5^th Ave W detour by turning left onto 5^th Ave W, follow 5^th Ave W to I-35 SB ramp and take that ramp to resume regular route on I-35 SB.

Route 103 Westbound starting Aug 30^th: the detour on W 1^st St will take 103 around this closure.
