Due to the closure of both on and off ramps from 21st Avenue West to Highway 53, Weekday and Saturday Route 5 buses will detour as follows:
From West Duluth to Mall: Buses will run regular route to 3rd Street and 24th Avenue West, then detour via left on 24th Avenue West to Piedmont Avenue, right on Piedmont Avenue to Highway 53, left on Highway 53 and return to regular route.
From Mall Area to West Duluth: Buses will run regular route to Highway 53 and Piedmont Avenue, then detour via right on Piedmont Avenue to 24th Avenue West, left on 24th Avenue West to 3rd Street, right on 3rd Street and return to regular route.
This detour is expected to last for an extended period as the ramp closures are planned to remain closed into 2024.
