Effective Sunday, September 10th, Route 110 Duluth & Superior will terminate service in Superior Wi. at Walmart.
The difficult decision to shorten the end of the route was made due to bus adherence issues. These issues are exacerbated by the I-35 “Can of Worms” rerouting of all Blatnik Bridge traffic along Garfield Avenue, causing significant delays for traffic travelling between Duluth and Superior.
Transfer connections at the Duluth Transportation Center(DTC) for passengers travelling from Superior Wi. to points in Duluth, were inconsistent and unreliable.
Reducing the length of the route allows buses time at the end of the line to ensure they’re able to depart on their return trip on time.
The DTA will reexamine this decision when road construction delays has subsided or when alternate route adjustments become more feasible.
