Grandma’s Marathon Detour Saturday, June 17th

Grandma’s Marathon will be held on Saturday, June 17^th. Superior Street will be closed to traffic from 5^th Avenue West to 12^th Avenue East starting at 5:45 a.m. until approximately 2:00 p.m.

Eastbound Buses coming into the Downtown Area:

Buses will take Regular Route to Superior Street and 6^th Avenue West, then detour by turning left on 6^th Avenue West to 1^st Street, turn right on 1^st Street and run to Lake Avenue, turn left on Lake Avenue and:

Routes 10 & 14W: Buses will take regular route from Lake Avenue.

Routes 6 & 7: Buses will run to 2^nd Street, turn right and run to 14^th Avenue East, turn right and run to Superior Street, turn left and return to regular route.

Routes 10H, 11K, 12 & 13:  Buses will run to 2^nd Street and turn right, run 2^nd Street to 6^th Avenue East and regular route.

Westbound Buses into the Downtown Area (All Routes except 10 and 14W):

Buses will take Regular Route to 3^rd Street and 3^rd Avenue East then continue along 3^rd Street to 1^st Avenue West, turn left and run to 1^st Street, turn right and run to 5^th Avenue West, turn left and run to Superior Street, turn right and regular route.

Inbound 10 and 14W: Regular Route to Lake Avenue and 3^rd Street Street, then right on 3^rd Street to 1^st Avenue West, turn left and run to 1^st Street, turn right and run to 5^th Avenue West, turn left and run to Superior Street, turn right and regular route. If a 10 into a 13 run to 6^th Avenue West, turn right and follow above routing for eastbound buses.

In addition to Above Detours:

Routes 6 & 7 Outbound (From Downtown):

At Superior Street and 20^th Avenue East. If Superior Street is closed at 20^th Avenue East buses will turn left and run to 1^st Street, turn right and run to 21^st Avenue East, turn right and run to Superior Street, turn left and regular route. If Superior Street is not closed at 20^th Avenue East continue on regular route.

Routes 6 & 7 Inbound (To Downtown):

Buses will take regular route to Superior Street and 21^st Avenue East, if Superior Street is closed at 21^st Avenue East then detour via right on 21^st Avenue East to 1^st Street, turn left and run to 20^th Avenue East, turn left and run to Superior Street. At Superior Street and 14^th Avenue East detour via right on 14^th Avenue East to 3^rd Street, turn left and use detour routing above via 1^st Avenue West.

Route 7 Detour in Lakeside:

60^th Avenue East will be closed at Superior Street for a portion of the day. If closed buses will detour via regular route to 60^th Avenue East and Tioga Street, turn right on Tioga and run to 58^th Avenue East, turn left and run to Superior Street, turn right and regular route.

Route 15 Park Point:

All trips departing DTC before the 3:45pm trip will be dropped. During this time inbound Route 4 should use regular route to Superior Street and 6^th Avenue West, then run 6^th Avenue West to 1^st Street, to Lake Avenue turn left and run to 3^rd Street, turn left and run to Mesaba Avenue, turn left and run to M&H. From M&H run Mesaba Avenue to 2^nd Street, to 1^st Avenue West, to 1^st Street to 5^th Avenue West, left on 5^th Avenue West to Superior Street and regular route.
