Garfield Avenue Drag Race Detour Sat/Sun September 27th-28th (Route 110)
On Saturday and Sunday, September 27th and 28th, the drag races on Garfield Ave will create a detour for Route 110. The existing detour for the “To Superior” direction will remain in effect all day both days, so this will only impact the “To Duluth” direction. The roadway is expected to reopen by approximately 7pm and the To Duluth direction will return to Garfield Ave for the remainder of the service day each day once this has occurred.
Route 110 (To Superior, WI): Maintain current detour all day both days by taking freeway to the Blatnik bridge. Note: access from Garfield onto the Bridge will be temporarily open for just these two days. Therefore, to minimize complexity, the “To Superior” route will maintain its detour as posted rather than return for just the last 3 trips these two days only for the access to close again until further work is completed.
Route 110 (To Duluth, MN): until Garfield Ave has reopened for the evening, detour by remaining on 535 while crossing the Blatnik Bridge to exit on the right for North I-35, follow I-35 to right hand exit 256A for Superior St, follow exits for Superior St to resume regular route.
