Beginning Monday, April 12th road construction in the downtown area will close Superior Street between 1st Avenue West and 3rd Avenue West. Both 1st Avenue West and 3rd Avenue West will remain open at the beginning of the construction project. 2nd Avenue West will be closed.
DTA buses will detour as follows:
Buses traveling east into downtown from the west:
No detour. They will continue to use 3rd Avenue West when approaching the Duluth Transportation Center (DTC), and 1st Avenue West when departing.
Buses traveling west into downtown from the east (Inbound Routes 6, 7, 10H, 12, 13, 15)
Regular Route to Superior Street and 1st Avenue East, then buses will detour via 1st Avenue East to 1st Street, left on 1st Street to 3rd Avenue West, left on 3rd Avenue West to Michigan Street and DTC.
Inbound Routes 10 and 14W.
Buses will run regular route to Lake Avenue and 3rd Street, then detour via right on 3rd Street to 3rd Avenue West, left on 3rd Avenue West to Michigan Street and DTC.
This construction project is expected to last into June.
The bus stop and shelter on Lake Avenue between Superior Street and 1st Street will only be provided service by Routes 10 and 14W.
