Detours – Saturday, June 19th – Grandmas Marathon

Grandma’s Marathon will be held on Saturday, June 19^th. Michigan Street will be closed to traffic and Superior Street will be closed to traffic from the east side of 3^rd Avenue East to 10^th Avenue East starting at 5:45 a.m. until approximately 2:00 p.m.

Eastbound Buses in the Downtown Area:

Regular Routing to Superior Street and 3^rd Avenue West, then detour by continuing along Superior Street to 1^st Avenue West and regular route, bypassing DTC. A Temporary bus stop will be placed between 3^rd Avenue West and 2^nd Avenue West.

Westbound Buses in the Downtown Area:

Buses will observe Regular Routing to Superior Street and 3^rd Avenue West, then detour by continuing along Superior Street, bypassing DTC. A Temporary bus stop will be placed between 2^nd Avenue West and 3^rd Avenue West.

In addition to Above Detours:

Routes 6 & 7 Outbound (From Downtown):

Once arriving at Superior Street and 3^rd Avenue East buses will detour via turning left onto 3^rd Avenue East, run to 4^th Street, turn right, run to 10^th Avenue East, turn right, run to 2^nd Street, turn left, run to 14^th Avenue East, turn right, run to Superior Street, turn left and regular route to 20^th Avenue East. If Superior Street is closed at 20^th Avenue East turn left and run to 1^st Street, they will turn right and run to 21^st Avenue East, turn right and run to Superior Street, turn left and regular route. If Superior Street is not closed at 20^th Avenue East continue on regular route.

Routes 6 & 7 Inbound (To Downtown):

Buses will observe regular routing to Superior Street and 21^st Avenue East, if Superior Street is closed at 21^st Avenue East then detour via right on 21^st Avenue East to 1^st Street, turn left and run to 20^th Avenue East, turn left and run to Superior Street. If Superior Street is open continue on regular route to 14^th Avenue East. At Superior Street and 14^th Avenue East detour via right on 14^th Avenue East to 3^rd Street, turn left and run to 3^rd Avenue East, turn left and run the Superior Street, turn right and regular route to downtown.

Route 7 Detour in Lakeside:

60^th Avenue East will be closed at Superior Street for a portion of the day. If closed buses should detour via regular route to 60^th Avenue East and Tioga Street, turn right on Tioga and run to 58^th Avenue East, turn left and run to Superior Street, turn right and regular route.

Port Town Trolley:

The Trolley will begin service at 3:00 p.m.

All buses and routes will provide FREE Transportation in any direction to Marathon Runners that have their Entry Number with them.
