The Christmas City of the North Parade is scheduled for Friday, November 22nd. The parade will be staged along London Road, beginning at the London Road/10th Avenue East/Superior Street intersection, traveling west on Superior Street, and south on 5th Avenue West. Superior Street between 10th Avenue East and 5th Avenue West will be blocked to all traffic at approximately 5:45 PM and will remain closed until the completion of the parade at approximately 8:15 PM. During this detour DTA buses will use 12th Avenue East for eastbound and westbound routing.
ALL BUSES SCHEDULED DURING THIS TIME PERIOD IN THE DOWNTOWN AREA WILL DETOUR AS FOLLOWS.
MAINLINE; Routes 1 – 2 – 3 – 6 – 7
Eastbound – regular routing to Superior Street and Mesaba Avenue, then detour via Mesaba Avenue, East on 2nd Street to 12th Avenue East, 12th AE to Superior St. and regular route.
Westbound – regular routing to Superior Street and 12th AE, then detour via right on 12th AE to 3rd Street, then continue west on 3rd Street to 3rd AE, left on 3rd AE to 1st St., right on 1st St. to 5th AW, left on 5th AW to Superior Street, and regular routing west on Superior Street.
EAST EIGHTH; Routes 11 – 11K
Inbound – regular routing to 4th Avenue West and 1st Street; then west on 1st Street, – IF going to “1E” terminal, run west on 1st street, up 6th Ave. W., East on 2nd Street, up 1st Avenue East to terminal “1E”. If next terminal is route 10 or 11, then up 6W, east on 2nd Street and regular routing. If going to “M&H” or other western terminal – run west on 1st Street to 5th Avenue West to Superior Street, to “M&H”. From “M&H” via Mesaba Avenue, 2nd Street, to 3rd Avenue East and regular routing.
Outbound from “1E” – run via 3rd Street, 4th Avenue West, 1st Street, then detour via 6th Avenue West, 2nd Street to 3rd Avenue East and regular route.
KENWOOD; Route 12
Inbound – Via regular route to 3rd Avenue East and 1st Street, then west on 1st Street, left on 5th AW, right on Superior Street and regular route.
Outbound – via West Superior Street, Mesaba Avenue, 2nd Street. Begin next regular route at 3rd Avenue East.
DULUTH HEIGHTS; Routes 10 – 14
Outbound – via Mesaba Avenue to 2nd Street, east on 2nd Street to Lake Avenue, north on Lake Avenue and regular routing.
Inbound – via regular routing to Lake Avenue and 1st Street, then detour via west on 1st Street to 5th AW, left on 5th AW to Superior Street, west on Superior Street and regular routing to “8W”. If you are a far west bus, use 2nd St. to 3rd AE as normal, then west on 1st St, and left on 5th AW to Superior St.
LSC -MALL -AIRPORT; Route 8:
Inbound – Via regular route to West Superior Street and Mesaba Avenue, then detour via Mesaba Avenue, East on 2nd Street and regular route.
Outbound – Via regular route to 3rd Avenue East and 1st Street, then west on 1st Street, left on 5th AW, right on Superior Street and regular route.
PIEDMONT; Route 9MT:
Inbound: -Via Mesaba Avenue, East on 2nd Street to 3rd Avenue East, and regular route. If layover is DTC, drop all passengers at 2E. Remain at 2E until time to depart.
Outbound: – If laying over at 2E, run 2nd St to 3rd AE, to 1st St, to 5th AW, to Superior St, and regular route.
WOODLAND VIA UMD/EAST 4TH; Route 13:
Inbound: – Via regular route to 3rd Avenue East and 1st Street, then detour west on 1st Street, left on 5th AW to Superior Street and regular route.
RAMSEY RALEIGH via W 8th St:
Inbound: regular routing to Superior Street and Mesaba Avenue; then detour via Mesaba Avenue, East on 2nd Street.
DULUTH-SUPERIOR: Route 16
From Superior – regular routing to Superior Street and Mesaba Ave., then detour via north on Mesaba Avenue, east on 2nd Street, to terminal 2E. If returning to the garage, north on 1st Avenue East, west on 3rd Street.
To Superior – from terminal 2E run via east on 2nd Street, south on 3rd Avenue East, west on 1st Street, left on 5th AW, west on Superior Street and regular routing.
PARK POINT: Route 15
Outbound – via Mesaba Avenue to 2nd Street, east on 2nd Street to 3rd Avenue East, then west on 1st Street to 5th AW, left on 5th Avenue west to northbound I-35, Lake Avenue Exit to Canal park drive and regular route.
Inbound – Via regular route to Lake Avenue south and Railroad St. then run via left on Railroad Street to 5th AW viaduct, 5th Avenue West, Superior Street, and regular route to garage.
AQUARIUM / DECC LOOP: ROUTE 24
*The scheduled 6:12 p.m. and 7:12 p.m. trips will be cancelled. Trips scheduled to continue to Route 10 will layover at M&H during this time.
