On Friday, November 11th at 8pm, until Monday, November 14th at 4am, the outbound entrance from Garfield Avenue to the Blatnik Bridge will be closed.
This will result in a detour for outbound (Duluth to Superior) Route 16 buses and buses deadheading to Superior on Saturday and Sunday, November 12th and 13th.
Route 16 Outbound (Duluth to Superior):
Regular route to Superior Street and entrance to I-35 South, then take I-35 South the Bong Bridge entrance (Highway 2 East), then Bong Bridge thru the round-a-bout to Belknap Street. Continue on Belknap Street to Banks Avenue, turn left on Banks Avenue to Broadway Street, right on Broadway Street to Tower Avenue, right on Tower Avenue and regular route. Buses will resume regular service at Broadway Street and Tower Avenue.
Route 16 Inbound (Superior to Duluth): No Detour. Regular route.
Buses deadheading to Superior should use 27th AW, I-35 South, and the Bong Bridge to cross the bay to Superior.
Service will not be provided along Garfield Avenue in Duluth, and on 5th Street North, Catlin Avenue and Broadway Street on the north side of Belknap Street in Superior for trips from Duluth to Superior. Service will be provided in these areas on trips from Superior to Duluth.
All Route 16 buses will aim to return to regular routing Monday morning.
