Proterra Electric Transit Bus Scheduled to be in Duluth on Friday, May 8th

DULUTH, MINNESOTA (May 5, 2015) – The Duluth Transit Authority (DTA) is pleased to announce that the electric transit vehicle manufacturer, Proterra, will be in Duluth this Friday, May 8th with one of their Catalyst vehicles. The DTA was recently awarded a $6,343,890 FTA Low or No Emission Vehicle Deployment Program Grant to purchase six NEW Proterra 40-foot Catalyst electric transit vehicles and two fast-charge stations.
The all electric Proterra bus will arrive at the DTA Operating Center Friday morning. DTA staff and board members will ride the Catalyst to scheduled stops at the Transit Center East in downtown Duluth and the Kirby Bus Hub on the University of Minnesota – Duluth (UMD) campus. Upon arrival at UMD, a press conference will take place with remarks from DTA General Manager, Dennis Jensen, and a UMD spokesperson. The media is welcomed to board the Catalyst electric bus at the Transit Center East and ride to the press conference at UMD. A complete itinerary for the day is listed below.
