Service Change Alert: Route 103 to return to traditional routing August 24th, following the re-opening of the Morgan Park Bridge:
Route 103 routing will return to its previous alignment
The current routing utilizing I-35 was primarily due to the bridge closure in Morgan Park. The shuttle we were running was taking away too great of resources for us to continue with that approach. Our options were to either eliminate routing from Gary/New Duluth, eliminate routing from Morgan Park, or run a portion of the route on the freeway to make up the time we needed. Now that the bridge is back open again, we will revert to our previous routing on August 24th.
Thank you to those who have shared feedback. We understand that some may have really liked the routing and maybe in the future we can try something to satisfy that desire. However, we did receive quite a bit of negative feedback from those trying to get to the Denfeld and Lincoln Park neighborhoods and needing to transfer. A The demand for more frequency in our primary corridors is so great that having the 103 back on the mainline will be of greatest benefit.
