Route 101 Blue Line to Move from 21st Avenue East to 24th Avenue East Sunday December 17th
Effective Sunday, December 17th, 2023, Route 101 (Blue Line) will cease service along 21st Avenue East and begin providing service along 24th Avenue East and Kent Road. This is to reduce issues caused by the difficult right hand turn from 21st Avenue East onto Superior Street when inbound.
Route 101 (Blue Line) and will be routed as follows:
From Downtown:
Regular route to Superior Street and 21s Avenue East, then detour by continuing along Superior Street to 24th Avenue East, turn left and follow along 24th, which turn into Kent Road, to Woodland Avenue, turn right and run regular route to UMD.
To Downtown:
Regular route to Woodland Avenue and Kent Road. At Kent Road turn left and continue along Kent Road, which becomes 24th Avenue East, to Superior Street, turn right on Superior Street and run regular route to downtown.
This is expected to be a permanent change unless the intersection of 21st Avenue East and Superior Street is reconfigured to allow for safer right turns by buses.
