**** DUE TO MNDOT RESCHEDULING OF THE BRIDGE CLOSURE ****

**** THIS DETOUR WILL TAKE PLACE ****

**** ON MONDAY AUGUST 19TH ****

Both directions of the Blatnik Bridge / 535 highway will be closed all day Monday August 19th. This will force ALL Route 110 trips on Monday to detour as described below.

During this closure, connections between Route 110 and Route 111 will occur along Tower Ave at any bus stop between Broadway St and 14th St. Route 111 departs Broadway St at approximately 12 after each hour in case dispatch needs to be notified to coordinate a transfer request as Belknap and Fisher will not be visited by Route 110.

To minimize missed connections given the alternate connection point we will maintain the detour even if the bridge closes later or opens earlier unless an update is made with sufficient time to circulate communication to bus operators and riders alike.

** The DTA will also be operating a one-day supplementary route to cover the areas that Route 110 will miss because of this detour for most of the day. Please see Memo Supplement below for details.**

Route 110 to Superior: From Westbound on Superior St, follow entrance to I-35 Southbound, follow I-35 SB to the Hwy 2, Richard I. Bong Bridge Exit 253A, after the Bong Bridge proceed through the roundabout to Belknap St and follow Belknap St to Banks Ave and turn left onto Banks Ave, Follow Banks Ave to Broadway St and turn right, follow Broadway St to Tower Ave and turn right, follow Tower Ave passed Belknap St onto regular route.

Route 110 to Duluth: From Northbound Tower Ave continue on Tower Ave passed Belknap St and follow Tower Ave to Broadway St and turn left, follow Broadway St to Banks Ave and turn left, follow Banks Ave to Belknap St and turn right, follow Belknap to the roundabout and onto the Hwy 2, Richard I. Bong Bridge, follow the Bong Bridge to I-35 NB exit and merge onto I-35 NB, follow I-35 to exit 256A to Superior St, exit onto Superior St and resume regular route.

Goodwill shuttles:

The DTA will also be operating a series of one-way shuttles to travel to Goodwill industries on Garfield Ave in Duluth in the morning, and shuttles back to DTC in the afternoon.

Shuttles in the morning will depart DTC at 6:55 am, 7:25 am, and 7:55 am to go to Goodwill (waiting for Route 104 that normally turns into the 110 at each of those times).

Shuttles will depart from Goodwill at 3:30 pm and 4:30 pm to bring passengers to DTC.

Garfield Ave will otherwise not have service on August 19th

** Memo Supplement (SUPPLEMENTAL ROUTE): **

The supplemental route will run every 30 minutes with the exception of it skipping a 10:30am departure from the layover at 6th St and Hammond Ave. Service would resume at 11:00am.

Service will begin at 6am and run until the 110 Trip that departs DTC at 5:55pm reaches Tower and Broadway to make a transfer connection for those who need it.

A traditional style schedule and a map will be included below.

The routing for this will be as follows:

To Downtown Superior: Service begins on 6th St East of Hammond Ave. It will follow 6th St to Catlin Ave and turn right, follow Catlin Ave to Belknap St and turn right, Follow Belknap St to Tower Ave and turn right, Follow Tower Ave to Winter St (with the last stop being Tower Ave and Broadway St) and turn left onto Winter St, follow Winter St to Banks Ave and turn left, follow Banks Ave to Broadway St and turn left, layover on Broadway St.

From Downtown Superior: From the layover on Broadway St buses will do as much as they can to wait for Route 110 from Duluth to arrive but may need to depart before that to avoid complicating the remaining schedule. The last departure from Downtown Superior will wait for the Route 110 that departs DTC at 5:55pm. They will begin service on Tower Ave at the corner of Broadway St and then they will follow Tower Ave to Belknap St and turn left, follow Belknap St to Catlin Ave and turn left, follow Catlin Ave to 6th St and turn left, follow 6th St to Hammond Ave and turn right with the last stop on Hammond Ave at 6th St.
