UPDATE 2/9/23 – 21st Avenue West expected to reopen at some point Friday February 10th. Buses will return to regular route immediately after reopening.
On Monday, January 23rd, removal of the Highway 53 overpass will cause the closure of 21st Avenue West between 1st and 2nd Street.
During the closure, Routes 1, 2, 3, 8, 9M, 9MT & S1 will detour as follows.
Outbound “From Downtown”:
Run regular route to Superior Street and 19th Avenue West, then detour by turning right on 19th Avenue West. Continue to follow 19th as it curves to the left and passes under Hwy 53, eventually becoming 20th Avenue West. At 20th Avenue West and 3rd Street, turn left. Follow 3rd Street thru the intersection of 21st Avenue West and return to regular route. (See map)
Inbound “To Downtown”:
Reverse of above detour routing.
The duration of the detour is expected to be around 2 weeks. Bus stops will be located on 3rd Street, at the nearside of 21st Avenue West, in both directions.
