Trolley returns service east of Lake Avenue this summer
The Duluth Transit Authority will return the Port Town Trolley to the streets of Duluth for the summer beginning Sunday, June 6. The Trolley, which circulates every half-hour between downtown Duluth, Canal Park and Bayfront, operates on a daily basis from 11:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. throughout the summer until Labor Day.
The Trolley will return service east of Lake Avenue to Fitger’s this year. Last summer, the DTA suspended Trolley service east of Lake Avenue to avoid schedule delays, as Lake Avenue was closed to traffic during skywalk construction between Superior Street and First Street.
Trolley serves downtown & Canal Park hotels – restaurants - shops & attractions
The Trolley operates along Superior Street between Fitger’s and Sixth Avenue West, along Canal Park Drive, and along the Bayfront. The Trolley stops at downtown bus stops along Superior Street including: Fitger's, Sheraton Hotel, Fond Du Luth Casino, the Holiday Center and Radisson Hotel. The Trolley also serves the Depot Heritage/ Arts Center & Railroad Museum, Bayfront Park, Great Lakes Aquarium, Vista Fleet Excursion Dock, S/S William A. Irvin, Duluth 10/Omnimax Theaters, the DeWitt-Seitz Marketplace, Maritime Visitor Center/Aerial Lift Bridge and other locations along Canal Park Drive.
Trolley fare is 50 cents – Trolley Day Passes sold on Trolley for $3
The Trolley fare is 50 cents with children four and under riding free. Unlimited-ride Trolley Day Passes are available for $3 on the Trolley and Downtown Transit Center.
