Google Mobile Maps Information

Supported devices, installation information and other information can be found at the Google Mobile Help Page.

For IPhone Users, firmware must be upgraded to version 2.2 for most features to work. More information about installing the update can be located at http://www.apple.com/iphone/softwareupdate.

The new version of google maps will allow you to get all of the transit directions that you would get on the web version of Google Maps.

Additionally the Google maps for Mobile even has some features not on the desktop version. For example you can find the last transit trips of the day and more easily browse through earlier or later trips. The My Location feature, available on most phones, also makes it easier to set the start point of a journey.

The new version of Google Maps for mobile also includes, faster searching on BlackBerry devices and star ratings for businesses.

To get these new Maps features on your iPhone, you'll need to update your phone's software through iTunes. And don't forget that even if you don't have an iPhone, Google Maps for mobile is available for many other kinds of phones, including BlackBerry, Windows Mobile, Symbian Series 60, and Android — visit www.google.com/gmm for more details.
