DTA FAQ

Some of the DTA's Frequently Asked Questions

How do I read a schedule?

  1. Select the correct schedule. Use the DTA schedule with the route serving your neighborhood and the route that travels to where you want to go.
  2. Select the day of the week. Open the schedule to the weekday, Saturday, or Sunday section.
  3. Are you going "to downtown" or "from downtown"? DTA schedules read "TO DOWNTOWN" or "FROM DOWNTOWN", as all neighborhood buses travel through downtown Duluth before going to their destinations. Connections to other buses are usually made in the downtown area.
  4. Select the "time point column" closest to your start point. If your starting point is in between "time-point columns", use the one just prior to your starting point, as the bus will pass there first.
  5. Determine your departure time. Read down the "time-point column" to the schedule time closest to your desired departure time. If you want to board a bus at a location in between these headings, estimate the time the bus will be arriving at your bus stop. To be sure you don't miss your bus, it's a good idea to be at the corner bus stop a little early.
  6. Planning your trip. If you want to arrive at your destination at a specific time, simply locate the column showing the arrival time point and read back to your starting point for your boarding time.
