DULUTH, MINNESOTA (July 24, 2015) – Effective Sunday, August 2, 2015 at 9:00 p.m., Railroad Street will reopen. The frontage road alongside northbound I-35 between 5th Avenue West and Lake Avenue will reopen on Monday, August 3, 2015 at approximately 6:00 a.m.

The Phase 2 nighttime closure of northbound I-35 is scheduled to begin on August 2nd at 9:00 p.m. and daytime partial-lane closings of northbound I-35 are scheduled to begin on August 3rd.

The Phase 1 detour along Harbor Drive around the Duluth Entertainment and Convention Center (DECC) will conclude at that time. During the Phase 2 nighttime closure, the detour will be via 5th Avenue West, Railroad Street, and Lake Avenue and then back onto the freeway.

Beginning on August 3rd, The Duluth Transit Authority’s (DTA) DECC & Downtown Shuttle Bus (Route 22) will use Railroad Street with the main stop located just below the Northwest Passage. The Shuttle Bus will no longer enter the DECC parking lot to pick-up passengers.

5th Avenue West will now remain open during the daytime in Phase 2 of the project. However, it will be closed during the nighttime when the Phase 2 detour goes into effect.
