Published: Expires: 11/16/2014

DULUTH, MINNESOTA (November 3, 2014) – The Duluth Transit Authority (DTA) is once again partnering with the Miller Hill Mall on the second annual Slumber Party with Santa by providing transportation for Santa and Fox 21 News Anchor, Dan Hanger, aboard the Port Town Trolley.

Sleep Number presents this family-fun event to the citizens of greater Duluth on Friday, November 14, 2014. The Port Town Trolley will arrive promptly at Door 6 between Dick’s Sporting Goods and DSW at 6:30 p.m. where kids will welcome Santa and Dan Hanger to the Miller Hill Mall. Children will greet them with festive music provided by the Duluth Superior Symphony Orchestra (DSSO) youth. Other supporting partners include Pam’s Hallmark, Barnes & Noble, Build-a-Bear, Fox 21, Messina and Associates, Northwood Outdoors, A Sweet Event, Great American Cookie and Diamond MC Entertainment.

Once inside the Barnes & Noble Court, Dan Hanger will tuck Santa into a Sleep Number bed and read him a bedtime story called, “Snowmen at Christmas.” Three bears, compliments of Build-a-Bear, with a value of $60 each will be raffled at the event. Plus, the first 50 families to arrive will get a copy of Disney’s “Frozen” by a Big Golden Book Company valued at $10 each. The event will conclude at approximately 8:00 p.m.

Then, on Saturday, November 15, 2014 at 8:30 a.m., children will wake up Santa with a joyous Christmas carol so that he can begin to hear the Christmas wishes of all the Northland girls and boys. The book, “Twas the night before Christmas,” will also be read at that time by “Emerald the Elf.” After that, kids will get a chance to decorate their own Holiday cookies. Two Build-a-Bear parties valued at $120 each will be raffled. Plus, a Candy Buffet, compliments of A Sweet Event, will also be raffled that morning. Please note that you must be present to win all raffle prizes.

Hot chocolate and cookies will be provided both days along with holiday songs from the DSSO youth. This event is free and open to the public.
