Published: Expires: 11/16/2013

Slumber Party with Santa, presented by Sleep Number, will feature many fun activities for the family.

DULUTH, MINNESOTA (November 4, 2013) – The Duluth Transit Authority (DTA) is sponsoring the Slumber Party with Santa at the Miller Hill Mall by providing transportation for Santa and Mayor Ness aboard the Port Town Trolley.

Sleep Number presents this family-fun event to the citizens of greater Duluth on Friday, November 15, 2013. The Port Town Trolley will arrive promptly at Door 6 between Dick’s Sporting Goods and DSW at 6:30 p.m. where kids will welcome Santa and the Mayor to the Miller Hill Mall. Children will greet them with festive trumpet music provided by the Duluth Superior Symphony Orchestra (DSSO) youth. Other supporting sponsors include Pam’s Hallmark, Barnes & Noble and Great American Cookie.

Once inside the Barnes & Noble Court, Mayor Ness will tuck Santa into a Sleep Number bed and read him a bedtime story called “Santa Comes to Duluth.” Families will have the opportunity to guess Santa’s “Sleep Number” for a chance to win a $100 gift card. The event will conclude at approximately 8:00 p.m.

Then, on Saturday, November 16, 2013 at 8:30 a.m., shoppers will wake Santa up with a joyous Christmas carol so that he can begin to hear the Christmas wishes of all the Northland boys and girls. Kids will also get the chance to decorate their own Holiday cookies that day.

Hot chocolate and cookies will be provided both days along with holiday songs from the DSSO youth. The first 50 children to arrive on Friday night will take home a FREE “A Christmas Wish” DVD.
