DTA Unveils NEW Passenger Hand Schedules
Published: Expires: 8/10/2013
The DTA has developed NEW hand schedules that utilize different colors for each bus route.
DULUTH, MINNESOTA (July 10, 2013) – The DTA has developed a new design for their passenger hand schedules. The schedules will be effective as of September 1, 2013. The new design utilizes different colors for each route and will make navigating the transit system easier. Now, each route will not only have a different name and number, but they will also have a unique color. These colors will correspond to the transit system maps located at different transit centers across the city.
“This unique color strategy was developed to make navigating the DTA’s system more user-friendly,” said Heath Hickok. “Passengers can now view the different routes on our transit system maps and match them to the correct hand schedules based on color alone.”
Another objective of this enhancement was to create promotional opportunities for local businesses and nonprofit organizations. Each schedule will feature a limited number of advertising spaces that will be sold on a first-come-first-served basis.
“We’re presenting the business community with an opportunity to sponsor Duluth’s public transportation system while connecting with our passengers,” said Hickok. “Our ridership continues to increase each year. In 2012, the DTA’s ridership was 3,261,494. These folks are a huge market for local businesses and have a significant impact on Duluth’s economy.”
The deadline for buying ad space is Wednesday, July 24, 2013. The new passenger hand schedules will be printed in August and be available to the public on September 1, 2013. Anyone interested in this advertising space can contact the Heath Hickok, DTA director of marketing, at 623-4314 or via email at email@example.com.
