CLOUD MN — Forty drivers from 25 public transit agencies around the state recently competed in the 24th annual Minnesota Statewide Bus Roadeo in St. Cloud. Duluth Transit Authority driver Paul Mattson placed third in the Large Bus Division. This was Mattson’s first appearance in the State Roadeo. Mattson has been a DTA driver since July of 2009.
DTA drivers Paul Mattson and Matt Muecke were selected for this year’s State Roadeo competition by attaining perfect safety and customer service records for the year, while maintaining an “employee in good standing” status.
The Minnesota Statewide Bus Roadeo provides training, skill enhancement and recognition for Minnesota’s public transit operators. The Roadeo course simulates many of the driving situations that challenge operator skills in the everyday performance of their jobs.
The Minnesota Statewide Bus Roadeo is sponsored by the Minnesota Public Transit Association and Mn/DOT’s Office of Transit.
