DTA to operate limited service on New Year’s Day

Published: Expires: 1/2/2011

For the first time since the early 1970s, the DTA will implement limited service(similar to the current Sunday level of service) on all major holidays beginning with this New Year’s Day, January 1, 2011. DTA service on the following holidays will also be introduced in 2011: Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas. Holiday service, however, will only be provided in Duluth.

Holiday service and extended evening service hours on many routes (seven days a week) will be introduced beginning on January 1, along with a fare increase. (See separate news release for detailed information.)

STRIDE services will also operate in Duluth on New Year’s Day.

The DTA will run regularly scheduled bus service on New Year’s Eve, Friday, December 31.
