Duluth Transit Authority to hold public Open House on Multi-modal Transportation Terminal Site Options
Published: Expires: 2/18/2009
The Duluth Transit Authority (DTA) will be hosting an Open House from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Tuesday, February 17 at the Holiday Inn to present site options for the construction of a multi-modal transit terminal in downtown Duluth and to obtain public comment for this potential project. No formal presentation will be made. Seven terminal site options will on display for public review at the Open House. (See attachment) DTA staff will be on hand to provide information and record comments.
The DTA is seeking comments from bus riders, potential developers and the general public.
The establishment of a Multi-modal Transportation Terminal in downtown Duluth has been studied by the Metropolitan Interstate Council and DTA consultants in the past and is currently part of the DTA’s future visioning effort. The goal of this visioning effort is to improve bus operations in downtown Duluth and multi-modal connectivity between downtown Duluth and Canal Park / Waterfront; create economic development opportunities and better multi-modal options for pedestrians, bike riders and future rail services; and to identify potential site locations for a downtown transportation terminal.
