DULUTH, MINNESOTA (May 13, 2019) – The Duluth Transit Authority (DTA) will offer FREE rides to passengers with bicycles on Friday, May 17, 2019 in recognition of National Bike to Work Day.

This ride free offer is part of the DTA’s Presenting Sponsorship for the 2019 Bus, Bike, Walk Month campaign coordinated by the Healthy Duluth Area Coalition. The DTA Board of Directors voted unanimously to approve this offer at their last board meeting on April 24, 2019. Please note that the DTA will also give bike rack demonstrations from 6:30 to 8:30 a.m. on Friday, May 17th at Lake Superior Plaza near Lake Avenue.

Since 1994, all DTA buses have been equipped with bicycle racks that accommodate up to two regular bicycles. People who “Bike & Bus” have greater access to DTA Routes and can avoid biking up Duluth’s steep hillside. The DTA’s annual ridership for passengers with bicycles has been approximately 27,000.
