Fitger’s 5k Race Detour Saturday April 20th
On Saturday April 20th, 2024 Grandma’s Marathon-Duluth, Inc. we will be holding the 2024
edition of the Fitger’s 5K race.
The race is scheduled from 9am to 11am with necessary detours
likely needed about 30 to 60 minutes before and after the event. The race will take place starting
and ending on Superior St by Fitger’s and use portions of London Rd and South St as far East as
21st Ave East. This will force our 103 routes to detour during the event.
Route 103 to UMD: From Downtown on Superior St turn left up 2nd Ave East, then turn right on
1st St. Follow 1st St until 14th Ave East and turn right. Take 14th Ave East to Superior St and turn left
to resume regular routing.
Route 103 to West Duluth/Spirit Valley: Reverse of to UMD directions through the impacted

CATLIN AVE DETOUR 4/18/2024
On Thursday April 18th, 2024 Catlin Ave will be closing near Belknap St and going South to N
21st St due to a watermain project. The closure is expected to conclude on the same day. This
closure will cause a detour for our Route 111. We will set up 2 pairs of temporary stops to assist
passengers during this detour. One pair on Mortorelli near the entrance to lots 3A&3B just East of
Ostrander Hall. A second pair near the intersection of 21st and Catlin. A follow up return of this
detour may be forthcoming depending on the scope of the project completion.
Route 111 to Itasca: From Eastbound Belknap, continue passed Catlin Ave to Mertz Motorelli
Memorial Drive (Next Right before Marathon Gas) turn onto Mortorelli and check temporary stop
mentioned above. Follow Mortorelli until 21st and turn Right. Take 21st and be on the lookout for
temporary stop again. Take 21st to Catlin turn left and resume regular route.
Route 111 to Downtown Superior: Reverse of above routing, being careful with left turn onto
Belknap off of Mortorelli.
This detour is expected to last 1 day on Thursday, but there is a possibility we’ll return to this
detour again after we get more detailed information.
