The DTA’s U-PASS Program at Lake Superior College (LSC), which began in September of 2001, has surpassed the half-million rider milestone on Tuesday, December 15th, when LSC freshman Nick Justad boarded the 2:30 p.m. bus at the college. Nick says he rides the bus to LSC every day. Nick was congratulated by LSC and DTA staff at the bus stop; and received a plaque along with a gift basket of goodies from the college.
U-PASS ridership at LSC has continued to grow every year since they joined the DTA’s U-PASS program in 2001. In September, LSC ridership produced its highest monthly total ever with nearly 15,000 rides.
UMD, University of Wisconsin, Superior and the College of St. Scholastica are also onboard the DTA’s U-PASS Program. Ridership at these colleges continues to grow. In February of 2009, U-PASS ridership at UMD surpassed the 3 million mark. UMD joined the U-PASS program in 2000.
