Two DTA Buses Involved in Accident in Downtown Duluth

Two DTA Buses were involved in an accident on Superior Street at approximately 5:05 a.m. today.

DULUTH, MINNESOTA (April 14, 2015) – At 5:05 a.m. an accident involving two Duluth Transit Authority (DTA) buses occurred on the 500 block of West Superior Street. It started with an eastbound DTA bus that struck a semaphore at 5th Avenue West and Superior Street where it then hit a westbound DTA bus before coming to a stop at concrete barriers located in front of a construction site. There was a fatality during this crash. Passengers and the driver of the eastbound DTA bus were transported to the hospital via ambulance for evaluation. Currently, the Duluth Police Department (DPD) along with the Minnesota State Patrol Commercial Inspection Unit is investigating this accident. More details will be provided to the public as they develop and are confirmed.
