DTA routes #13U and #18 return to service September 4th
Published: Expires: 9/9/2012
U-PASS ridership growth at area colleges is expected to continue
DTA routes #13U (East Fourth Street / UMD) and #18 (UMD-CSS via Rice Lake & Arrowhead Roads) will return to service on Tuesday, September 4th after being suspended during the summer months.
Route #18 provides weekday service along Arrowhead Road and Rice Lake Road between Pecan Avenue and Central Entrance, with stops at Campus Park Housing, Boulder Ridge, Summit Ridge Apartments, College of St. Scholastica and UMD.
Route #18 service is provided from September through May during fall and spring semesters; but does not provide service when UMD is on semester or holiday breaks.
Route #13U provides additional support service for route #13 (UMD – Woodland via East Fourth Street) during fall and spring semesters where student ridership is traditionally strong. Only the route #13U trip departing the Downtown Transit Center at 7:15 a.m. is operated year-round.
Route #13U buses will begin service to UMD from Sixth Avenue East and Fourth Street this year rather than downtown Duluth, with the exception of two trips departing the Downtown Transit Center at 7:15 a.m. and 8:15 a.m. All route #13U trips departing UMD will continue to provide service to downtown as in previous years.
