DTA’s 3rd Annual “Play It Safe” Campaign Sponsored by the Fond du Luth Casino

DULUTH, MINNESOTA (December 10, 2013) – The Duluth Transit Authority’s (DTA) “Play It Safe” campaign will once again be sponsored by the Fond du Luth Casino. Additional Supporting Sponsors this year include KQDS Fox 21 and Red Rock Radio.
The Duluth Transit Authority and Fond du Luth Casino are again partnering to provide FREE and extended regular-route bus service this New Year’s Eve on Tuesday, December 31, 2013. The extended service will be offered on most routes after 12:00 midnight. The last buses departing downtown Duluth will leave as late as 2:10 a.m. on New Year’s Day to accommodate those celebrating New Year’s Eve.
The DTA and Fond du Luth Casino are encouraging the public to “Play It Safe” on New Year’s Eve and ride the bus! Duluth and Superior will have regular-route service in most areas that features extended hours after midnight for people who are out celebrating the holiday.
Tina Nordin, Marketing Manager at the Fond-du-Luth Casino, is delighted with the popularity and development of this service since its launch 3 years ago. “Over the years, so many people have expressed words of appreciation to the Fond-du-Luth Casino for making this campaign possible! We are absolutely tickled to rally around keeping our community safe,” said Nordin.
The Fond du Luth Casino is the Presenting Sponsor of the DTA’s 3rd Annual “Play It Safe” Campaign. With their sponsorship, all fares after 5:00 p.m. on December 31, 2013 are FREE. Furthermore, the DTA’s extended service past midnight is being subsidized by the Fond du Luth Casino. In 2012, 3,798 fares we’re collected during this special “Play It Safe” DTA service.
