Northwest Passage Skywalk Ribbon-Cutting Scheduled for Thursday, October 8th

DULUTH, MINNESOTA (October 6, 2015) – The Duluth Transit Authority (DTA), the Duluth Entertainment and Convention Center (DECC) and the Greater Downtown Council (GDC) will host a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the newly reconstructed Northwest Passage Skywalk on Thursday, October 8, 2015 at 8:30 a.m. The event will take place in the skywalk section located closest to the DECC.

This ceremony marks the near completion of the reconstruction of the Northwest Passage Skywalk that began on Monday, June 22, 2015. The skywalk is a key component of the DTA’s Duluth Transportation Center (DTC) construction project which is on schedule to be completed in January of 2016.

City Council President, Emily Larson, will make remarks along with DTA Board President, John Brostrom, DECC Executive Director, Dan Russell and the Duluth Area Chamber of Commerce President and DECC Board President, David Ross. Other elected officials and dignitaries will be on hand to celebrate the milestone.

To express appreciation for everyone who uses the Northwest Passage Skywalk on a daily basis, the DECC will provide light refreshments in the skywalk from 6:30 to 8:30 a.m. This event is free and open to the public.
