DTA’s U-Pass Program at UMD Recently Surpassed 6-Million Passengers

UMD and DTA are hosting a press conference on Wednesday, January 28, 2015 to recognize the milestone.

DULUTH, MINNESOTA (January ­­­27, 2015) – The Duluth Transit Authority (DTA) is pleased to announce that a major milestone in the U-Pass Program at the University of Minnesota Duluth (UMD) has been reached. The 6-millionth UMD U-Pass rider rode the bus on December 17, 2014. The DTA and UMD have worked together to identify this individual; his name is Travis Kasper.

On Wednesday, January 28, 2015, Travis Kasper will be recognized at an official DTA and UMD Press Conference at 11:00 a.m. in the UMD Kirby Plaza Bus Hub. DTA General Manager, Dennis Jensen, will identify the milestone passenger at the event along with UMD Chancellor, Lendley (Lynn) Black. They will present Kasper with a plaque of recognition and a gift basket. Both will make statements regarding this milestone and the overall success of the U-Pass Program at UMD.
