3rd Annual Slumber Party with Santa, presented by Messina and Associates, will feature “Tip the Trolley with Toys.”
DULUTH, MINNESOTA (October 28, 2015) – The Duluth Transit Authority (DTA) is once again partnering with the Miller Hill Mall on the Third Annual Slumber Party with Santa event by providing transportation for Santa aboard the Port Town Trolley.
NEW this year is a toy drive called, “Tip the Trolley with Toys,” that is being managed by the DTA and Salvation Army. The toy drive begins on Sunday, November 1, 2015 and runs until Tuesday, December 1, 2015. Parents and children are encouraged to bring new toys to the Slumber Party with Santa event and give them directly to Santa or one of his Elves. Each person that brings a toy to the event will get an additional ticket for the door-prize drawing.
Legacy Toys, a new toy store in the Miller Hill Mall, has generously offered to match any toy purchased at their store for the “Tip the Trolley with Toys” toy drive with a toy of equal value. They will match up to $10,000 in toys purchased at their store. The goal of the toy drive is to receive 1,500 new toy donations. The Salvation Army will provide receipts for all donations and ensure that the toys are given to children in low-to-moderate income households throughout the Twin Ports area. Prizes can be dropped off before and after the event in a bin located just outside Legacy Toys at the Miller Hill Mall.
Messina and Associates present this family-fun event on Friday, November 13, 2015. The DTA’s Port Town Trolley will arrive at the Miller Hill Mall’s Door 6 with Santa at 6:30 p.m. Other sponsors include: The Miller Hill Mall, Salvation Army, A Sweet Event, Diamond MC Entertainment, Legacy Toys, the Duluth News Tribune, Caribou Coffee, Northwood Outdoors, Pretty Princess Parties, Studio Fawwx and the DTA.
Once inside Door 6, the Snow Princesses will lead everyone in song before tucking Santa into bed after reading him a bedtime story called, “The Night Before Christmas.” The event will conclude at approximately 8:00 p.m. with door-prize drawings. Please note that no purchase is necessary for door-prize drawing, but you must be present to win. Refreshments will then be provided and the Snow Princesses will be available for photos. This event is free and open to the public.
